OOTD The Orchard, After Chekhov

style

Spent an awesome day at the theatre with my lady – saw a production of The Orchard, after Chekhov, a great post-colonial piece. And also enjoyed Grand Hotel and Of Men and Marriage ( all part of the Shaw Festival’s 2018 season).

Rocking heatwave approved palazzo pants and tank (H&M), hat (Lack of Colour), striped layering piece (Mendocino) and shoes from Call It Spring (5 seasons ago). Allia on the other hand looked smashing, and/but was literally wearing an entire outfit identical to a 60 year old man also in attendance. And I love her for that. She is my own personal #manrepeller

Hats off to end of Summer Style! Yet, the heatwave persists.

Dua Lipa

style

We had the absolute pleasure of seeing Dua Lipa play for the second time, with a fabulous show at Echo Beach. She was gracious, charming and sounded like heaven.

One of the highlights, after a glorious show, was when Whitney Houston’s “I wanna dance with somebody” came on, causing an impromptu dance party on the beach sand.

From dinner before the show at Chubby’s Jamaican restaurant to the aftermath of the concert, things get progressively more sloppy; always the sign of a successful evening. Also: proof that you don’t need alcohol to have a good time. Mwah!

Zara Dresses for Now and Then

style

I went on a spree a while back and feel VERY happy that I did, since each item was selected in the hopes that it would fit now (then, several months back) and later (now, now).

One fave feature of Zara’s website is that you can search the sale section by size. Nothing was over $30 and every item can be tried on at home, returned in store – no questions asked, and you can source all the stock in one place (way better than going to several stores for hit-and-miss sizing).

Knowing a baby was in progress, I selected a few great, stretchy pieces. Thanks Zara!

What is your go-to online shopping destination? Why is it your favourite? Any sites that you have tried and now avoid? How did you get burned?

OOTD denim denim denim

style

What is Super Mario’s favourite fabric?

Denim, denim, denim.

Sing it to the Nintendo tune. It’s a terrible joke, but it pops Into my head every time I think about wearing this gorgeous denim trench. The Canadian tuxedo, denim on denim, is the quintessential Canuck fashion choice. Pair a trench with great boots from Clarks (complete with orthotics), some basics and a cool attitude and it’s an outfit that works as well with a belly as without.

Purposefully did no touching up on these photos. We all need a bit more realness, right?

Also, I’m not super keen on matching my shoes to my handbag. obvs. All my fashion choices are practical – Can I walk in these shoes? Am I warm enough? If I get too hot, can I take some of this off? Can I sit and eat a massive meal in these, as baby kicks me in the guts, and still feel comfortable? If yes, proceed.

Cheers to you and hoping for many blue skies ahead.

OOTD – summer summer summertime

style

Why is it such a task to upload a few snaps from the UK trip? Maybe because I’m seven months pregnant. Yup. Probably that. But here is an OOTD with rose quartz necklace, beaded bracelets, rose tank, cuffed boyfriend jeans and a colourful HM dress worn unbuttoned as a layer.

Heading to a beautiful house in Prince Edward County, near Sandbanks Provincial park… and I’m ready to go. With WhoWhatWear’s inspiration, I made a list of my own and some pics for good measure.

H&M (above) has some awesome suggestions for easy vacation palettes and pieces that mix and match effortlessly.

I’ll be packing basics that intermix easily, go from day to night (just in case it gets chilly) and can go anywhere – from poolside to the fruit orchard, to the winery (not for me) or small town street for ice cream.

Stay tuned for sun and fun pics with the little nieces and family!
