Peasants Feast.

My very cool, radically humble friend, Erin, hosts a yearly event called peasants feast. You bring food and drink to share, and you share something of yourself. In past years I’ve seen mime, song, poetry, and video installations. This night always features some quirky entertainment, laughter and lots of surprises.

It always merits, for me anyway, a fabulous outfit.

Dress and boots: Zara

This year was no exception. There was the repotting a plant to the soundtrack of Beyond ThunderDome. A burlesque performance to Fever, Telling the story of the making of a femme fatale. Short stories. Canada Heritage minutes performed at rapid pace. A power point about the highs and lows of teacher-Life, with funny visuals of student work.

Cheers til next year.

Ps. The boots were an impulse purchase and I regret them not at all.

Winter is Here

I’m denying the reality of temperature and time. Rocking a vintage blouse, from my mom’s closet, insect earrings, distressed denim and the laziest hair, feels just right for a brunch celebration with friends.

Before the New Year drops, take stock of the things in your life that you want to hold on to: that family hand me down 80s power blouse, and good friendships – of course.

lazy bun and leather (jacket from Zara, boots Timberland, blouse and jeans vintage)

Let go of the things that no longer earn your loyalty or warm your heart.

What are you keeping? What will you let go?

Fall Outfits Day 1

Cannot tell you how long I've been waiting for the heatwave to break and for fall weather grace us with its presence. A friend brought home my family tartan from Scotland, and my leather jacket is a three-season staple that I'm very excited to see again. Fall is ripe for legging, comfy dress and boot combos. What are you wearing this fall?

Someone asked, do you actually wear all the outfit combos you post? Sure do!
