One of my go to outfits, when I’m in a rush or don’t have time to fuss, is tall black boots, thick leggings and a short dress or tunic.
Today it’s a red and black printed Kensie dress with a zipper back and black side panels.
It’s great for packing, too. Hence my long weekend outfit, which pretty much fulfills the formula: Yellow and black tunic dress in a damask print. Black moto legging. Knee high Frye boots. A great necklace from White Feather Designs. Ready for eating, playing with the nieces and relaxing with family.

Two for one: Today it’s two times the fun with options for polka dot tops, high waist black trousers, belted or tied with a bow. Get some pattern play going with a big cat slide, or amp it up with some crimson heels. Add a red lip. For bonus points, try In Style’s suggestion for a new take on the cat eye:

Outfit of the day: A pretty standard camel coloured sweater, in a boxy shape. Nude stack heeled, pumps with gold buckle detail on the toe, rounded square. Distressed boyfriend jeans. Great necklace. Top it with a brown blazer for a ‘just going partridge hunting’ meets ‘J.Crew’ look.

I can’t let go of my summer dresses. So, I won’t. I’ll pair them with boots, luxe leggings, faux fur, long sweaters and capes, to bring out the best in my summer staples and help them transition to fall. Like the leaves, they’ll get a new look.

I got myself a new skirt for fall: below the knee, black, high waisted,…with suspenders. I am excited. It’s rare that I find a piece that I love, that I’m not sure I can pull off. Today’s pairing: bordeaux sleeveless turtleneck, boots and statement necklace. Wish me luck.
