OOTD gold and blue

style

For the Inside Out Film Festival I needed a day to night outfit that was going to take me from screening to after parties.

Daytime is for pineapple flats and velvet details. Night time is when the heels come out. Small swaps had me party ready!

For more on this year’s fab festival, stay tuned.

OOTD Pretty Little Florals

style

I don’t know which is more embarrassing, that I noticed Aria, on Pretty Little Liars, was wearing my dress, or that I was watching PLL and watched every season (if I’m being honest).

But today’s inspiration was an easy tie-waist dress, from Anthro, with pretty cutout details; paired with booties, a cute bag, and embellished cardigan, I was ready for the slight drop in temperature. The belly was definitely racking up style points with the above-the-bump bow.

OOTD Prom Style

style

Knocked up and on my way to prom. Twenty years later, lol. I’m lucky to have a few yearly excuses to get dressed up.

This Anthropologie dress was such a steal. Regularly $470, I scooped it up for $89 on sale a few seasons ago. I altered it and fortunately it still fits over this gradually expanding bump.

The shoes are from The Bay, purchased for my brother’s wedding last year; the wedge is oh-so-slight and I can walk in them for hours. Oh… and this is the same hair I tossed into a lazy bun at 7 am after not washing it for four days. Always classy.

Once, Twice…

style

I know a dress is a good one when I want to wear it twice in three days. I picked up this blue and white, kaftan style midi dress with tie-front for $40, and turned the corner of the rack to find my friend holding the same one.

Super versatile and easy to wear, it was a perfect choice over jeans, for a very windy day, paired with a black leather jacket and ankle cowboy boots. On the patio and into the evening, it was comfortable and breezy.

Two days later I wore it for a day date with my nieces to the movies, ice cream and for a walk on the windy beach, paired with a long denim jacket, Topshop peep toe slides and whimsical earrings.

Aldo sunglasses, Zara moto jacket, Gap denim trench, Frye cowboy boots, Topshop leather peep toe boot and H&M dress.

I love the flora of this print, which reminds me of wallpaper or the plates we had in my house when I was growing up. And the tie front means that while it fits now, it will also be a cinch to cinch it when I have a waistline again!

Is there an outfit you are wearing on repeat this spring?

Easter Bunny Surprise OOTD

style

It has been a while, and for good reason: I’ve been waiting to reveal a big StyleSaVie surprise. The ootd section, to name one, will be getting an update – maternity fashion. I’m just about at the end of my first trimester and bump fashion is on the horizon.

I couldn’t say no to this Jane Plus One ruffle dress. It’s perfectly named, though not maternity fashion, and its stretchy waistline and billowy skirt will easily accommodate my expanding belly.

I am excited for the challenges ahead, maternal and style-related. I know that one in four pregnancies do not carry to term, and 1 in 8 women have struggled with fertility, from first hand experience with my wife and my own pregnancy journey. However, I’m feeling hopeful and am ready to embrace all the feelings and big changes ahead.
